A smalltown artisan ice cream shop is making big scoops in the national dairy world.
Kurschner’s Super Premium Ice Cream received several awards at the World Dairy Expo Products Contest held in Madison, Wisconsin.
Kurschner’s Super Premium Ice Cream, in Chetek, is the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association’s (WDPA) 2025 Ice Cream Grand Champion of the World Day Expo Championship Dairy Product contest.
The accomplishment is a monumental feat for owner Alan Kurschner, who opened his ice cream shop less than a year ago.
Kurschner’s earned first place in the Open Class Ice Cream category with its peanut butter chocolate. The ice cream maker then advanced to the grand champion round, where it topped all other ice cream categories and frozen dessert classes, including sherbet, frozen yogurt and gelato.
